Nash's Story:

Years before joining our team Nash had dreadlocks that were poorly installed resulting in a lot of frustration and eventually brushing them out. With a previous friendship with Colby from years ago, the two decided to work together to further expand the Dreadlock Central brand. Now, as a fully trained dreadlock artist Nash is serving clients in the Norfolk, VA area.

I had the most amazing experience with  dreadlockCentral and my stylist, Nash is the best! From the start, Communication, scheduling, answering questions, giving advice, and installation was fantastic! Had a great time with Nash, I felt comfortable the entire time. This is something that I have wanted to do since my teenage years and I’m unbelievably grateful for this company and Nash for making my hair exactly how I imagined it to be! I had a few challenges with my scalp and hair after having multiple surgeries with a brain tumor and Nash was perfect! She made me feel so comfortable and had no issues working with my hair! My loctician was Nash. The whole experience exceeded my expectations from booking my appointment to finished product. Nash is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I can tell how passionate she is about her job and was just as excited as me, if not more, to see the finished product. She took her time and made sure the job was done right. Had my husband go with the starter locs at first through someone else, and we weren’t pleased with the way it was going so decided to schedule with Nash and after one session, I’m super impressed! 100% recommend getting instant locs done by her. I’ve had dreadlocks before and was unhappy with them and was looking for someone who could do them the way I wanted them to look and Nash did that and more! She made even and uniform dreads that matched the extensions I had brought and then she added the extensions seamlessly. She was also fun to be around for the two days it took for installation. Before I did my locs with a lady from Trinidad in Brooklyn, NY and came out disappointed because they used the interlocking method a did come out as neat as I would like. And when I meet this team, they used a crochet method and that changed everything. I would like to give props to Colby for blunting my tips  as perfectly as possible. Also Aly and Nash did great job doing the roots. I definitely recommend to give them a try ***** you won't regret it.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is my fifth round of dreadlocks in 20 years and my first time choosing to do professional install.  I am glad I did after researching Dreadlock Central.  Shaneese worked on my new locks and did a fantastic job.  I have very straight caucasian hair and it took about 15 hours of total work to get them finished.  They are tight already and while I will have the young lock frizz for a while, they are so much better at month one than mine in the past were at about 6 months! That says a lot.  Shaneese was great about scheduling me and keeping the dates and times planned.  The price was reasonable also.  It was good to get to know her some through this process. Shaneese is so skilled at what she does, so kind and easy going, and she makes you feel so comfortable especially since they come to your own residence! What took another salon 7 hours to do and still not finish completely she did in a little more than four hours.... I can’t tell you how wonderful my dreads look after she was done. But, I'm so happy with my loctitian (Shaneese is amazing), the whole Dreadlock Central process (initial form submission, scheduling, dread education, etc.), and of course the final product. Although I know many people who have had dreadlock journeys of their own, this is my first time... technically I had freeform dreads in high school, but I didn't keep them long enough to call it a journey. Over the past year, I grew my hair from bald (no guard) to an afro with the intention of installing dreads. Throughout that time, I did countless hours of research regarding styles, methods, maintenance, and everything dreadlock. The first thing I realized is that the amount of information out there is overwhelming. But, for a number of reasons, I ended up thinking that Dreadlock Central's understanding of the crochet method could be a good fit for me. I wanted a cleaner approach with natural products, to limit build up and grime. I was instantly drawn to Dreadlock Central's similar philosophy. A few days after filling out their initial form, I was contacted by Shaneese. She's amazing. I blew her phone up with questions to make sure that I was making the right decision for me. I honestly do not think she could have been any more helpful than she was. She gladly answered everything (honest and upfront). Initially, we had differing opinions on the size and quantity that would be good for me and my hair type. I wanted dreads on the smaller side, and she wanted to make sure they were healthy and strong. We were able to exchange pictures and find one that fit the style that I was looking for and that she felt would stay strong enough throughout the growth process. The last thing anyone wants is to go through this process, only to come away with unhealthy or thinning dreadlocks. After figuring out a few details, I was able to get onto her schedule. She came to me, so the convenience factor is off the charts. By the time she arrived, I felt like I already knew her. It didn't feel like inviting a stranger into my home. It was more like having a friend over to the house. We chatted for a few, and then she got started. The conversations continued, so it was never awkward. But, throughout the entire process, she stayed professional and was clearly invested in my experience and cared about my dreadlocks. This is not just someone who is capable of doing the install... it's someone who cares about the install. The personal feel was amazing, and I truly made a dread friend that I know I can turn to with questions throughout my journey. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't still nervous leading up to my appointment, in spite of the research I had done and the prior conversations with Shaneese. But she put those worries to rest within the first 10 minutes of getting started. By the end, I was almost in tears with joy. I definitely recommend Dreadlock Central. Thank you guys.

I came to Hampton Roads as a travel nurse and decided to relocate permanently, leaving my loctician in New York. After months of searching for someone to work on Caucasian hair in desperate need of maintenance, I found dreadlock central.
